Productive Wednesday!

Good morning sistas!

Today I am going to be productive.  I am.  Time is starting to get away from me and there are things that simply MUST. GET. DONE.

So I won't spend a lot of time here today.  Jeannie, honey, I'm sorry for your troubles.  Yes, you have numerous health issues and they surely do suck.  BUT--you also have a wonderful husband and grands, you have a great career at a wonderful university, and you have travel opportunities that few have.  Try to stay focused on the positive today.  (Easier said than done, I know!)

Good Morning Vickie,

Wild week, with crazy life I lead.  I saw my surgeon yesterday, and got the wound debrided.  Ow!!!!!  He scraped all the dead flesh out of it with a very, sharp knife.  I don't know how I didn't scream in pain, but the nurses were amazed at how I handled it.  Doc wants to check in on Tuesday, the 22nd, and then I can leave for Pennsylvania.  With Colleen, and her family, leaving for Pennsylvania this weekend, I had to arrange a bunch of rides for next week, and God took care of it all in 24 hours.  Turns out there is a charter bus from a hotel a block from the Michigan State campus to the Detroit airport.  It's only $30, so I booked a ride online, that will get me to the airport in time to get through security.  It's almost a two hour ride from here to the Detroit airport.

I have to get a few presents wrapped to give Colleen for the kids to open on their ride to Pennsylvania on Saturday.  Just books.  

I also have to start packing.

Oh, OUCH!  Oh, Trish, that's the worst word in the world: debridement.  Shudder!  That's the part I remember most after that awful wound I got after my hysterectomy.  I had to go through that several times.  Scream all you want to honey!  It's the pits!

Hello Trish....you are something else. All that infection and pain you went through and you still plan to travel to Pennsylvania!! I would be so afraid of getting a worse infection. It sounds like you have things all arranged. You got a good deal too. I will be praying it all works out well.

Hi Vickie and my OFF family:

I was going to go to the Y... really I was ... but it was raining and my body was aching and I started having the sleepies again. So I gave in to the lazies and stayed home. Honestly, I have to get back in the groove. I slept 8 hours but feel so tired yet. 

I do have a massage scheduled at 1 p.m. ... got it through Groupon, it was marked to $39 for 1 hour massage, then discounted more to $29, so it was a good deal. I could really use it. 

Gary and I are going out for dinner tonight, our Christmas party. It's a barbecue place he's gone to before and he said it was pretty good and not expensive. 

Got a call this morning from youknowwho's mother. She said he's in jail ... he got caught shoplifting from Walmart. He's been in jail for two months. She was in physical rehab at the time for her hip. Her other sons didn't bail him out. She didn't bail him out either. So there he sits. Good place for him. Maybe he'll get some help.

Trish, glad the debridement went OK. Hope your trip goes OK.

Hello Eileen.....good thing you got a little more rest. Your body needs it.

WOW...what a deal for an hour massage!!!!  I would love that but my body would not! I am just to sore all over.

I am sooooo  glad that "you know who" is in jail. Actually he needs to be in a mental institution first. He is evil!! At least this time no one bailed I'm out!!

Good morning!

Our flight was on time and uneventful so we made it home from Charlotte fine. Got home and had small little birthday party for grandson. He did good on all testing this trip so that's good. Home today and then to Atlanta tomorrow!! We try to make all the medical trips have some fun in them. We went to movie there to see Good Dinosaur. Surprisingly it was really good. Also went to a huge map and globe store. He immediately picked out a globe that has a remote pen like thing that when he touches it on globe it tells him all about the area. I bought and had shipped home without him knowing!! Those globes are expensive!!

Vickie, have you checked in the trunk for your keys? In the compartment they put the spare tire in? 

Trish, I surely hope your wound heals quickly and you can enjoy your trip.

Eileen, the massage sounds wonderful! Enjoy it and your dinner out.

i did get to read some of the post while we were gone but of course I now can't remember what everyone was up to!!

Hi Susan,

No less than three people have been over that car with a fine tooth comb!  Me, my mom, and the lock smith guy!  It's crazy.  No one can find it, but it's definitely there.  I can't lock my car if the smart key is inside it, and I most definitely can NOT lock my car!  

It could only happen to me.  SMH.  LOL!

Hello Susan....so glad you made it home safely. It is wonderful that all your grandson's testing went so well!! Glad yowled the movie together. That globe sounds like a great gift. He will really enjoy that!!
